I kissed her down the crook of her neck. Relishing in the feel of the pulsing blood beneath, I nipped light against her pulsing artery. She turned in my arms. I pulled my mouth to hers, wrapping my hands around the ponytail at the base of her neck. I ran my hands down the length of her body. Stopping at the bottom of her tank, I pulled it up over her head. I dropped my mouth to suck her breasts through the thin lace of her bra. Her gasp at the feel of my mouth on her was enticing. I loved the moans women made in the throes of passion.

I reached behind her and unclasped her bra. I dropped her arms and it fell to the floor. I took one peaked nipple into my mouth and sucked. I flicked my tongue over the pebble causing her to utter little moans of desire as I flicked faster. I let my teeth sink into her slightly as I sucked. My arousal grew as I licked and sucked the blood from her breast. For her the pain and pleasure would mingle into a pulse of electricity taking her to the brink. I moaned, gripping her hair in my hands. I felt her shudder against my mouth. I flicked my tongue one last time against her swollen nipple, healing the marks from my teeth.

Moving back to her mouth, I ravaged her lips until they were pink and swollen. Her fingers pulled at the button on my jeans. I pulled, then unzipped them. I dropped to my knees, pulling her pants down over her hips. I nestled my head against her panties and inhaled in her sweet scent. The smell of arousal was intoxicating to vampires. I turned my head slightly kissing each thigh. I then moved back to her panties, slowly sliding them down her long legs.

Her eyes were hooded when they met mine. “Please, please, I need to feel you inside me,” she begged, grasping my shirt in her hands. My lips met hers in a passionate embrace and I lifted her in my arms. I walked her to the bed and lowered her slowly, kissing her as we went. My teeth grazed her lip and I locked onto it, sucking hard. She moaned against my mouth making me suck harder. I moved my lips down her body until I reached the waistband of her panties. I slid them down her legs, slowly, grazing my fingers along her skin as I went. I spread her thighs and dipped my mouth to lick her sweetness. She clenched her hands into fists at her sides. I licked the length of her lips again. I pulsed my tongue against her clip until I felt her tense. I increased my speed until she cried out, gripping the blanket below her. As her body pulsed, I sunk my teeth into her thigh, drinking hungrily. I felt her ripples continue and intensify as I drank.

She was screaming, “Oh God, yes, Oh. My. God.” I took her climax higher as I drank. I

stopped himself before I took too much. I was so hard, I ached for my own release. Charlotte was whipping her head back and forth on the mattress. I entered her in one swift movement. She cried out again. I could feel her clenching around me. She was bliss. I began rocking, in and out of her. She continued to clench her hands on the bed, and moan. I knew I hadn’t felt this much pleasure at one time. I relished in her soft moans she was making as I continued to quicken my strokes. I could feel her building again. I increased my speed and could hear her heart race again. I moved a finger to her clit and began toying with the tender bulb. I bit her lip so hard she bled. I bent to lavish in the taste of her. Licking and sucking her lips as I quickened my strokes, trying hard to keep myself at human speed. In moments, she cried out. She clenched around me, harder than before. I moved out, then slammed back into her one last time, finding my release as she clenched around my hardness. She continued to shudder below me. I moved to lay next to her. I watched as she rocked with her orgasm. She should fall into a deep sleep soon. Her cheeks were flushed and I rubbed my knuckle down her cheek bone.

When she finished shuddering, she looked over to me. “That was amazing.”

I stroked a piece of hair back from her face. “You need to rest. Why don’t you close your eyes and get some sleep?” I ran my hand down her cheek and she closed her eyes. In seconds, she let out the softest of snores. I smiled. She had been a nice distraction. Too bad she wouldn’t remember any of this in the morning. I stared at the sleeping girl a moment; I could have another go in the morning. I raked my gaze over her naked body.

I took a deep breath, knowing I needed to leave. I kissed her temple, using my gift to make her forget me. She wouldn’t forget she had amazing sex. She just wouldn’t remember with whom. In the morning, she would wake exhilarated and probably a little sore.

I huffed out a heavy breath, I still longed for Abrianna. The release hadn’t been enough. I needed to get further away. Thinking through my decision was necessary. I walked out of the hotel and ran. I wasn’t sure how far I needed to go, but I wouldn’t stop until I was sure I wouldn’t turn around. The decision I was planning wasn’t something to be taken lightly. Drunk on blood and desire, I didn’t trust myself to make a rational decision.

  CHAPTER 2

I opened my eyes, feeling the hard wood beneath my cheek. I sat up stiffly, stretching my hands over my head. Damn, I fell asleep at my computer. I wiped my hand across my mouth. My computer screen had gone black. Blinking, my finger tapped the mouse. The screen lit, and the page before me was blank. I huffed out a breath in frustration. Nothing, I wrote nothing last night. How the hell am I going to get this paper done? I thought I had at least started on the damn thing.

A wave of panic washed over me as I looked around, taking note of my surroundings. The dream from last night was still fresh in my mind. It took me a minute to collect my thoughts. I glanced back to the blank page. I slammed the laptop closed. “Ugh,”.

“I need to get my shit together.” Standing, I went to my closet. Grabbing a t-shirt, jeans, and my shower tote, I trudged off to shower. Maybe hot water would wash away the dream and wake me so I can write that damn paper. It was still early enough that no one would be up showering, yet. Most everyone went out the night before, celebrating the completion of their assignments or the weekend as usual. I hoped my smugness would be washed away with the coming shower. Hot water always woke me up and put me in the mood to take on whatever task the day held. Today’s task wasn’t one I was looking forward to. Biology wasn’t my favorite subject and having to write a research paper seemed like cruel and unusual punishment.

I turned the handle to shut off the water. My shower was over far too quickly. As I walked back to my dorm feeling a bit refreshed, the dream filled my mind. It was strange, maybe because it felt more real than any other. So much for a shower curing all ails. I guess this one is going to stick with me for a while.

In the dream, the forest towered above me, surrounding me in thick green foliage. The footsteps following me echoed against the forest floor, but the sound didn’t fit. There shouldn’t be an echo on a floor of dirt and sticks. Everything about the dream felt off. Every time I turned to face my follower no one was there. Then all I could do was continue forward as if compelled by a force beyond myself. The forest enveloped me in darkness. Tree branches jutted out from every direction as I pushed forward. The forest was a never-ending expanse of trees. My heartbeat echoed in my ears. As I moved forward, the sliver of light from the moon lessened, and soon I was standing in total darkness. I couldn’t see the branches as I trudged through the thick underbrush. Holding my hands in front of my face I continued. My arms were marred and bloody after what seemed like hours of walking, never getting anywhere. The feeling of being followed pushed me forward, but i could never see my pursuer. Finally, I stopped walking, turned, and waited. By pure force, I was determined to see my follower. A tall silhouette walked slowly and gracefully toward me out of the brush. “Abrianna, my love. I have come to ask for your hand. You can join me for eternal time.” The deep voice said. Then I was at my desk, conscious again.

This was frustrating. I thought I was finally going to see who was following me. Suddenly, I was back in my dorm, the forest a forgotten memory. It was strange, the feelings that I had towards the deep voice. It wasn’t fear like expected, but longing, an intense longing to see the follower. In the dream I had wanted to reach out and take his hand. I wanted that more than anything, but it was strange to go from such a terrible fear of n
ot knowing who was following me to the strong desire to touch the follower. It was baffling. Maybe that was what bothered me the most. The emotions seemed so out of place within the dream. I tried to push the dream aside; I had more important things to think about today.

The blank page stared back at me again, taunting. I didn’t know where to begin. I looked at the handout from the professor again hoping for some kind of inspiration. None came, flipping through countless notes, none of this stuff seemed to be very helpful. Finally, I conceded to begin writing whether ready to or not. About fifteen minutes in, I decided to go for a walk to get my brain going. My stomach growled. I needed fuel as I bounced out of the room happy to have another destination. Not being able to write was annoying. Writers block hadn’t stalled me for this long before.

The cafeteria wasn’t crowded, the bright fluorescents stung my eyes for a minute as I walked in. I snatched a muffin, banana, and a juice. Sitting at the first available table, I began immediately nibbling at the muffin. Across from me, at the next table, I recognized Cam staring at me with a curious expression. The minute our eyes met, he stood and walked over to my table. Everything about Cam screamed friendly, even his walk. His khakis and olive toned t-shirt matched the tan of his skin. I chuckled when I glanced at his t-shirt GAMERS DO IT BETTER. He wasn’t as tall as other boys I’d known, but tall enough to still tower over me. I was only 5’ 6” and he was 6’ 2”. His damp hair glistened against the fluorescents. He slid into the seat across from me as he always did and gave me a quizzical look.

“What are you doing here? Aren’t you supposed to be working on a paper or something?” he smiled playfully and wiggled his brows at me.

“Ah, I do need to eat ya know. Fuel the mind and all that.” I crossed my eyes and took a bite of my banana, winking at him.

He couldn’t help but laugh. “You’re always such a goofball.”

“Whatever, you love me. You followed me to college, after all.” I held my head high, looking down my nose at him. When he touched his tongue to his nose I laughed.

“Ah, I think you have that the other way around, Abrianna.” He gave me a pointed stare after he said my name in his snobbish tone. “You followed me here.” He sat back in his seat and slung his arm up on the ledge behind him.

“I got my acceptance letter first. Therefore, you followed me.” I blinked my eyes in superiority. “So, how was the party last night? I’m sorry I had to miss it for my wonderful biology paper.” I scowled and took another bite of my banana.

“The party was fine, you know the usual, drinking, drugs, and debauchery, always a good time.” He waved his hand in a flippant gesture. “Is that all you’re eating?” He motioned to my muffin wrapper and banana.

“Yeah, I’m not that hungry. I wish you would’ve taken Biology, so you’d know what it feels like to be swamped with work.” I sat back in my seat, crossing my arms over my chest. He took easier classes this first semester. I don’t know what the hell I was thinking loading up the way I did.

“Really? Cause Paidea isn’t punishment enough?” He rolled his eyes.

“Whatever, I like that class,” I shrugged.

“You would,” he mocked. “You love reading all those books.”

“I love reading. It’s the only way to live more than once. You should try it sometime. So, not to change the subject or anything, but what are your plans for the day?” I asked. I’d much rather spend the day with Cam than my biology paper.

“Nothing, I’ve got to read for your favorite class,” he said, rolling his eyes.

“We could study together,” I suggested, my voice brightening at the prospect.

  “Yeah, that’d be cool.”

I took the last bite of my banana and held the peel in my hands. I got up and hurried to the garbage can. He followed behind me to dump his tray as well.

“So, will Chris be in your dorm?” I asked Cam. I liked Chris, but he was often crabby, especially after a party.

“No, he’s got a game today, so he won’t be back until late.” He smiled at me. “Still having issues with my roommate?”

“No, he can just be a grump sometimes.” I shrugged as we leisurely walked to the dorm.

“So, how’s the paper coming?” he asked.

“Not good, I haven’t been able to start.” I looked down at my hands and began picking at one of the cuticles. I was frustrated at not having started writing already. I finished the research last night.

“You’ll finish, you always do.” He patted me on the shoulder, resting his hand there as I met his eyes. There was adoration in his gaze. I felt a tingle run down my spine at his touch. Returning Cam’s smile was so natural, like breathing.

We’d finally reached my room. I collected my things along with water and a few snacks. Michelle hadn’t returned, but it was only a matter of time. I didn’t want a rundown of the night before. I was already depressed I couldn’t go out and have fun. Michelle wasn’t who I’d have gone out with, but I felt like I was missing out on the fun. I huffed when I lifted my heavy backpack on my shoulder. Cam walked up to me, his eyes staring into mine.

“I can tell something’s wrong. What is it?” he asked. The concern in his eyes was touching. I let out a heavy breath. I stared into his dark eyes.

  “I’m that transparent, huh?”

“Yeah, well, I do know you pretty well by now,” he brushed his fingers along my cheek sending all the blood to my cheeks. “What’s going on?”

“I just don’t want to run into Michelle and hear about all the fun I wasn’t having last night.” I dropped my eyes to the floor, relishing in the feel of his hand on my cheek.

“Ah, yes you were missing out on all the fun,” he said sarcastically.

“Oh, shut up. I don’t need to be reminded.”

“You really didn’t miss that much,” he said, raising my chin so our eyes met.

“Yeah, I bet.” I took a step back. Cam narrowed his eyes at me when I moved away.

“No, really, it was boring.” He took a step toward me. His proximity was making me confused. I wanted to feel his touch again. But he was my best friend.

“Whatever, let’s just get to your room.” I sped out of the room. A few moments later I heard Cam’s steps behind me.

“You know, it’s usually a good idea to lock your door when you leave.” He caught my pace.

“Is it?” I continued to his dorm. He didn’t say anything on the rest of the walk but I could feel his eyes studying me. Maybe this was a bad idea.

Cam’s room was on the first floor, which was one of the only floors that hadn’t been renovated. The students that lived there called it the ghetto, but Cam had his room fixed up nicely. He had the money to do so, not all of the students were so lucky.

I stopped in front of his door and leaned against the wall waiting for him to open the door. When he did, I walked in and flopped down in my usual chair, and Cam took the one beside me reaching under his desk to grab his books. He was all business as soon as he had books in hand. I sighed as I sat staring at the blank page. I thought nothing looked quite so blank before. Cam was reading his book for Paidia, which was religion, philosophy and English wrapped into one. I enjoyed it, but he didn’t like all the reading. He was a math and economics guy, where I was a literature and philosophy kinda girl.

Finally, I huffed out a breath, frustrated. “I need some sort of inspiration.”

Cam looked over at me, almost stunned. He placed his marker in his book and looked at me thoughtfully. “Inspiration, huh? Well, you won’t find that staring at a blank computer screen.” he leaned so that he could see the screen. “We should do something else to get inspired.”

“Like what?” I asked, the idea of doing something else was intriguing.

“We could go rock climbing. It should be dead today, since everyone went out last night.” He nodded and I could tell he was pleased with himself. I had to admit exercise was a good way to get the mind working.

  Despite my desire
to do something else, my practicality was winning out. “Um, I don’t know. I’m kinda running short on time,” I said reluctantly. Rock climbing and my coordination didn’t mix. Falling from a rock wall wasn’t something I wanted to do today.

“Oh, come on, you know that’s not why you don’t want to go.” His eyes met mine and he gave me a knowing look.

“Well duh, you know I’m not coordinated. I’ll probably fall off the damn wall and end up breaking my neck. Wait, if I break my neck, I won’t have to turn in this damn paper.” I stroked my chin with my hand.

He shook his head at me. “Whatever, you’re not going to break your neck. I wouldn’t let you get hurt. You know that, even if it would get you out of writing your paper.” He smirked at me, eyes shining.

I huffed out a breath. “Fine, I guess we can go, but if I fall and hurt myself, I’m blaming you.” I began picking at a cuticle.

He looked down to my hands, He held his out to take mine. “Great, let’s go,” he said, yanking me up from the chair.

“Jeez,” I said, shaking my hand out after regaining my balance. Damn, his grip was tight.

He grabbed my wrist as he pulled me out of the room in his excitement. We headed out the back entrance since the recreation building was only one building over.

It didn’t take us but a few minutes to reach the building. Cam grabbed two harnesses and headed to the far end of the room where the rock wall was located. He handed a harness over and began putting his on. I gaped at the straps before me. How in the hell did this thing go on? I turned the straps over in my hands trying to figure out how exactly this contraption was supposed to go on my body. I pulled on one of the pieces and held it out. I gaged the size of the holes, the lager holes would be for my legs, right? I turned it and held it out again. I nodded, I thought I’d figured it out.
